As a child, I left Lacaune. And I spent all my life to wander the globe, before returning to my village.
There, I found my childhood friends who had stayed in Lacaune.
I wanted them to share my discoveries, perhaps to show off a little: I told them about my climb of Kilimanjaro, the sunset on Fujiyama, my trip to the Trans-Siberian …
In response, they told me about the path of Montalet, russet hues of autumn woods when they issued its fruit in abundance … the smell of boxwood-lined path that climbs the Rock of Viane, the panorama from the top of the peak of Concord, the sea of clouds in the stagnant moor Cabannes …
I listened, first out of politeness. Then with a little more attention. Finally with reverence. And if it was them the wise? That time wasted … No more questions: let’s catch up with time.
