A few kilometers from Lacaune, at the col of Picotalen (1023mètres altitude) there is the only cross-country skiing « station » in the Tarn department.
It is only open a few days a year, depending on the amount of snow! But what a joy when snow is falling!
While the village is living to the rhythm of the snowploughs, the waters of the fountains are changing into ice fall, at Picotalen it is the magical snow show. Three routes invite you to make hiking in all seasons, you can walk among the forest on cross country skis or snowshoes … Take the track of Bel Vespre to alternate white forest and sunny passages ….
